I started teaching in St. David’s in 1993, I know that’s a long time ago! I was teaching in Jobstown, Tallaght before that. I am Deputy Principal of St. David’s N.S. and have a responsibility for Irish and Maths throughout the school. I have taught every year group, but I was the SET for Fifth and Sixth classes for seven years up till June 2024. I am now an Administrative Deputy Principal and as such more involved with the day to day running of the school.  I am very privileged to be in this role and I really enjoy my interactions with all staff, pupils and parents. I am very proud of our school; our amazing achievements, fabulous pupils, dedicated and enthusiastic staff and I am particularly proud of our inclusivity. Outside school I enjoy spending time with my grandson, fitness training, walking/hiking, singing and good food!

In my spare time I like to play  music, cook and keep fit.

Mr Ryan

I’ve been teaching in St. David’s since 2005. I have taught various class groups over the years. One of the things I love most about teaching is that every year is different! Outside the classroom, I, along with Mr. Moloney, look after the football and hurling teams and have taken groups of boys to the Santry races. There is so much sporting potential  in our school and while we have come very close to  playing Croke Park finals, a few of our budding athletes  have taken home medals from Santry in recent years. I run an Easter Camp in the school every year and sometimes a summer camp where possible. Outside of school I am very interested in sport, mostly GAA and enjoy watching anything. I also love to read, cycle and watch films. There are a lot of things I look forward to every year; sports day, school tours, teachers v’s children soccer match, along with every day teaching of PE, Science and Maths!

Mr Pigott

This is my first year fully back in St. David’s since I left Mr. Conaghan’s 6th class in 2013 (as I like to keep reminding him). I am delighted to be on the opposite side of things now and supporting the boys to enjoy their school life through learning. I enjoy teaching STEAM subjects especially science as this is what I specialised in during college. Outside of school I love sports, specifically football and tennis. As well as this, I like to DJ on the odd occasion. I try to bring all of this into the classroom to keep things interesting and different for the boys.

Ms McKenna

I’ve been teaching for 20 years and have a wide experience teaching in the U.K and Ireland. I create a positive learning environment and promote good core values in the classroom. I have been lucky enough to travel and live in different countries. My favourite country was India and I studied yoga during my time there. I teach tennis to the senior boys at St. David’s through-out the year and we celebrate each summer term by holding a tournament at Rockfield Tennis Club.  It is a pleasure to teach the boys at St. David’s because they are hardworking, kind, and respectful. I believe that school is a safe place to grow and learn. I believe we can achieve anything when we work hard.

Ms O’Riardan

Ms Fleming

I have a lifelong love of learning which I endeavour to pass on to the boys, the sky is the limit so aim high! I promote creativity in learning and I feel the boys in St David’s really benefit from the wide range of activities they experience in our school. When I’m not teaching I enjoy going to the gym, running and continuing to develop my skillset. I’m in the final year of my Doctoral studies in DCU IoE where I have specialised in Inclusive and Special Education.

Mr Conaghan

I’ve really enjoyed  teaching here in St. David’s since 2009. The aspect of the job that I most enjoy is working with the young people I teach and  trying to build their confidence, self-esteem and show them the boundless potential they have in life, both academically and personally. At every opportunity I take my classes on history days, bringing the history to life! I organise a soccer blitz every year against neighbouring schools, which is  great day out! I also take after school guitar every Monday and Tuesday. In my spare time I play GAA, athletics, go to concerts and try to eat whole foods and love travelling the world!
